Silk Road Flowers by Far'ha began in September of 2003 when Far'ha (that's me!) needed a flower for a new flamenco costume. None suitable were available so I bought some luscious hand-dyed, bias cut, silk satin ribbon and made my first flower.
Now, over 1400 flowers later, I'm delighted to offer them to you here on SilkFair!
I hand sew the ribbon flowers, including the findings on the back. I do not use hotglue. My style runs the gamut from old-fashioned, traditional to my own unique sense of flow and color combination that is inspired by my dance background.---which includes dances from the Silk Road and Arab trade routes.
Generally, I have sold directly to my clients at art/craft festivals, studio sales, and mail order. I now have a studio, open to public by appointment or during specific events.
Although my offline business prevents me from maintaining this online store, I continue to make flower pins, corsages and hair accessories; hat pins, stick pins, bridal and wedding related items, fascinator flowers, and more! For inspirations in the meantime, check out the galleries in my website: http://-----. Whether it is an item in stock or a custom order, I can list it here on Silk Fair reserved just especially for you!
